After a wonderful day yesterday busking at the Cairns Esplanade next to the Lagoon Pool, we were thrilled to be able to watch local band “The Geckos” perform – a trio of talented brothers, who delighted the crowd and us with their cheerful, upbeat and skilful renditions of covers and originals alike. We haven’t smiled so much for a long time!

We are now heading back into town to do another 2 hour set next to the Lagoon Pool on The Esplanade, and to enjoy another glorious afternoon in Cairns.

The locals here are amazingly kind. We’ve just been invited to dinner tonight to a wonderful family we only met yesterday afternoon, and tomorrow night to play at a birthday party for the same family! And next week we’re heading up the mountains to catch up with The Geckos, to have a bit of a jam and finishing up with a performance on Friday night at the local hall. We’ll put more details up once it’s all confirmed.
